APPRENTICING
& VOLUNTEERING
APPRENTICESHIPS In 2008, we will have four paid Apprenticeship positions. We also have unpaid Apprenticeship positions. Apprenticeships, both paid and unpaid, are appropriate for people who are interested in various aspects of local, organic vegetable, herb, small fruit, and honey production. In 2008, the farm is working again with the Growing Growers Training Program to add a level of structured learning to the hands-on experience the farm offers. For more information, visit www.growinggrowers.org. Please call us at 913-831-2444 or email us at info@kccua.org. We'll set up a time for you to come out to the farm and talk with us about your interests and skills and our needs and expectations. VOLUNTEERING At our Community Farm we welcome volunteers of all ages, shapes and experiences! We believe people need to know how their food is grown and that getting your hands in the soil is a lovely way to learn. Some of our volunteers come out for an hour or two, some come out for a day, others come out every week through the farming season. At the Center for Urban Agriculture we also need volunteers to assist us with activities ranging from fundraising to accounting, administration, graphic design, research, volunteer coordination, etc. Please call us at (913)-831-2444 or email info@kccua.org if you would like to contribute your skills to our growing organization. We appreciate it greatly! |
