Partnerships for Market Gardening
KCCUA works in partnership with nonprofits and community groups to develop market gardens as a tool for skill and income development, community and economic development and health promotion. We are in our second year of working with Catholic Charities of Kansas City, KS on a market garden run by refugees from Somalia. We are also developing new projects with Cross-lines Cooperative Council and have provided consultation on gardening projects to Community of the Good Shepherd and Niles Home for Children. Nonprofits or community organizations in the Greater Kansas City Area that are thinking about starting a market garden, youth garden, job training program, refugee garden or similar project are encouraged to contact us at info@kccua.org. We'd love to hear from you and help you any way we can! |
